About Dudley Ottley

Broker Associate in the Park Hyatt Office for Slifer Smith & Frampton Real Estate, Dudley Ottley knows his Real Estate. I am fun, honest and a hard worker which is all important attributes of a successful Real Estate broker.

Family History: Making a living in the Real Estate Industry has been in my family for generations. My Great Grand father was a Real Estate Investor and actually owned the land where one of the first major shopping malls in the Country is located today, called Lenox Square in Atlanta, GA. My Father, Dudley Ottley Sr. has been a Real Estate Investor, Developer and Commercial Real Estate Broker since I was born. I feel like Real Estate is in my genetic makeup.

Ten years Commercial Real Estate experience: I began working as a Commercial Real Estate Broker in the spring of 1988 with my Father's Commercial Real Estate Firm, Ottley Properties, Inc. in Atlanta. My primary focus as a Broker was on Income Producing Properties such as Shopping Centers and individual freestanding retail buildings. I also brokered several large vacant land transactions and handled several land re-zonings in and around Atlanta. During the Savings and Loan crisis in the late 80’s and early 90’s I had extensive listing and sales experience with numerous bank foreclosures and in the RTC. I worked in Atlanta as a Commercial Real Estate broker for 10 years from 1988 until January of 1997. I was a member of the Atlanta Commercial Board of Realtors Million Dollar Club for five years and received the Lifetime Member award. I have successfully completed the CCIM or "Commercial Real Estate Institute's" classes, CI 101, CI 202, CI 301, CI 403, and CI 410. These classes are the most intensive and difficult Real Estate Investment Courses available in the Real Estate profession today.

Resort Real Estate experience: I moved to Vail in 1997 and began working with Slifer Smith & Frampton in the Arrowhead office, I have now worked in two Beaver Creek offices and at the Westin Riverfront Resort and Spa. I am now back in the Arrowhead office and have extensive knowledge of the entire Vail Valley. I have consistently been in the top 30% of the 100 brokers that work for Slifer in the Vail Valley.

For Fun: On a more personal level, I am originally from Atlanta, Ga., and went to the Dublin School in New Hampshire for High School. I graduated from Middlebury College, in Vermont in January of 1987, with a degree in Environmental Economics and a minor in Physics. I worked as a Ski Patroller at Sugar Bush Mountain in Vermont for a season after I graduated from College. I spent my college summers in Juneau, Alaska as a Raft Guide. In the late 80’s for recreation I was a whitewater slalom kayak racer. I was nationally ranked in the top 30 as a kayak slalom racer in the U.S. I qualified to try out 1992 and 1996 Olympic Kayak Team Trials. Only the top four in the country made the team and I was a full time commercial Real Estate broker.

In addition to Kayaking, Skiing and Real Estate, my other interests are Windsurfing, Biking, Rafting and most other outdoor activities. My mission statement is: Helping people buy and sell a piece of paradise in the Vail Valley.
